Baptismal Record Page
This is a page from the original baptismal record book . After the records from 1769 - 1775 were destroyed in the fire of 1775, Father Serra returned to the mission and recreated those records in 1776.
Note Father Serra’s signature. The rubrica or scroll at the end of his name identifies the validity of a person’s signature.
The Lincoln Document
In the early 1860’s, President Abraham Lincoln restored mission lands to the Catholic Church. This is a copy of the document signed by President Lincoln.
